On October 8, Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture Anar Guliyev attended the Ministerial Meeting on Housing Policy Accessibility and Sustainability, held in Geneva, Switzerland, on the sidelines of the 86th session of the UNECE Committee on Urban Development, Housing and Land Management.

 

The meeting focused on key issues such as ensuring accessibility and quality in housing policy, enhancing sustainability, and promoting inclusivity. Azerbaijan’s experience was also shared, including its Strategic Roadmap for concessional housing and social mortgage programs, as well as large-scale reconstruction and resettlement projects in the Karabakh and East Zangazur regions.

 

Anar Guliyev highlighted that these issues are directly linked to the agenda of the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13), titled “Housing for All: Safe and Sustainable Cities and Settlements,” to be held in Baku from 17 to 22 May 2026, and invited his counterparts to continue this important dialogue in Baku.
