The first day of the 3rd Azerbaijan National Urban Forum concludes with a panel on the future of Karabakh
The first day of the 3rd Azerbaijan National Urban Forum (NUFA3), held in Khankendi under the theme “Towards Climate-Resilient and Healthy Cities: Regional Partnerships and Innovative Solutions,” concluded today.
The day’s sole event was the panel session “Promoting an Inclusive, ‘Green’ and Sustainable Future for Karabakh,” moderated by Sultan Hajiyev, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Kenya and the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Permanent Representative to the UN offices in Nairobi, including UN-Habitat and UNEP.
The session featured participants Elchin Yusubov, Aydin Karimov, Marcelina Zielinska, and Orkhan Mammadov, who exchanged views on the restoration of liberated territories, development of the urban environment, preservation of cultural heritage, and the role of entrepreneurship in socio-economic revitalization.
Forum participants emphasized that the reconstruction of Karabakh is not merely about physical infrastructure but represents a new model of life built on sustainable development and innovation. Following the session, attendees visited the city of Shusha to explore its history, culture, and modern urban development.
