The Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture, Anar Guliyev met with Ms. Anacláudia Rossbach, Executive Director of UN-Habitat, along with colleagues from Egypt and ICLEI, as part of the Baku Continuity Coalition, on the sidelines of the resumed second session of the UN-Habitat Assembly taking place in Nairobi.

 

The meeting highlighted the progress achieved by the Coalition since its launch at COP29 in Baku. In particular, the growing international support for the Multisectoral Action Pathways (MAP) to Resilient and Healthy Cities. The MAP Declaration has already been endorsed by over 200 stakeholders, including 54 national governments, more than 100 cities, and several international and regional organizations.

 

The next steps for the progress for advancing the work of the Baku Continuity Coalition were also discussed. Key priorities include institutionalizing the Coalition’s activities, expanding its network of partners, and actively preparing for major international platforms — COP30 and WUF13.
