As part of Urbanization Day at COP29, a Ministerial Roundtable was held on the topic of environmentally sustainable urban transport. The meeting discussed key issues related to decarbonising and digitalising transport systems.

The focus was on implementing digital technologies to create environmentally friendly and efficient transport systems. Participants discussed successful practices for reducing CO2 emissions through innovative solutions and smart transport technologies.

 

Decarbonisation and sustainability

A significant emphasis was placed on creating sustainable urban mobility. It was decided to accelerate the integration of green transport solutions into urbaninfrastructure, including the development of electric buses, micro-mobility, and the expansion of bus lanes.

 

Cooperation and commitments

A declaration was adopted, expressing commitment to digital transformation and sustainable transport infrastructure development. Plans were discussed to create smart and eco-friendly transport systems by 2027, with close cooperation between governments, industries, and civil society.
