Another educational event was held to support the development of young architects
The State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture continues its series of initiatives aimed at training a new generation of architects and supporting their professional development in the field of urban planning.
The latest event held on the Committee’s initiative was organized jointly with ADA University and the UN-Habitat within the framework of the WUF13 “Azerbaijan Urban Planning Campaign.”
On December 8, an open seminar titled “Research in Design and Architecture” was held, where students, young specialists, and participants interested in the field listened to presentations by international experts on two key areas of architectural practice - the human-centered design approach and the role of digital technologies in the preservation of cultural heritage.
During the presentations by foreign professors of ADA University’s Faculty of Design and Architecture - Deniz Ozge Aytac (Bursa Uludağ University, Türkiye), Melania Vicentini (Politecnico di Milano, Italy), and Dina Jovanović Lombardo (Politecnico di Milano, Italy), all of whom hold PhD degrees in design from leading educational institutions - the impact of spatial design on corporate culture and human behavior was explained, along with the importance of 3D modeling, digital mapping, and BIM (Building Information Modelling) methodology in the documentation, monitoring, and planning of restoration processes of historical buildings, illustrated through real-life examples.
The seminar, which featured discussions on various approaches, was marked by active participation of young people and provided a useful platform for participants to learn about international experience.
It should be noted that this educational initiative of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture aims to support the development of architectural professionals, strengthen international cooperation, and promote a sustainable architectural culture while ensuring the preservation of historical heritage. Such events, which play an important role in the development of Azerbaijani architecture and young specialists, contribute to the exchange of best practices and the implementation of sustainable urban development strategies.
