On September 4, Anar Quliyev, the Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of Azerbaijan, met with a delegation led by Ines Ročan, the Regional Director of the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

During the meeting, the Committee Chairman welcomed the delegation and emphasized the importance of collaboration with the IFC. He highlighted the necessity of learning leading global practices in the field of green construction and taking further joint steps for their implementation in Azerbaijan. Additionally, he discussed the organization of relevant certification processes aimed at promoting the “greening” of construction projects and minimizing carbon emissions.

The IFC's Regional Director for Europe expressed readiness to support these initiatives, commending Azerbaijan's efforts in promoting environmentally friendly construction materials and low-carbon buildings. He also expressed a desire to share the advanced experiences gained from the “green building” projects implemented in 96 countries worldwide, with Azerbaijan.
