On September 11, 2024, a seminar on the topic "Green Building Initiative in Azerbaijan" was held, jointly organized by the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the International Finance Corporation.

The seminar, attended by representatives from the public and private sectors in the construction industry, was opened with introductory remarks by the Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, Dovletkhan Dovletkhanov, and the IFC representative, Leyla Huseynli. In their speeches, they emphasized the importance of applying ecological standards in construction and highlighted the need for collaboration to successfully implement the "green building" initiative in Azerbaijan.

During the seminar, IFC experts provided information on modern innovations in “green” construction, certification systems, the implementation of eco-friendly building projects, and related financing opportunities. Participants, familiarizing themselves with the presented information, engaged in an in-depth exchange of ideas regarding the application of these practices in Azerbaijan’s construction sector.
