Renovation works on more than 6,300 residential and non-residential facilities and construction of 65 individual houses have been completed

During the Second Karabakh War, the Armenian armed forces targeted on civilians and infrastructure objects, firing on civilian cities and regions far from the conflict zone and the front line with various weapons, artillery and ballistic missiles, and caused extensive damage to individual houses, social and catering facilities. As a result of activities organized by the State Commission established by the relevant Order of Mr.Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated November 6, 2020 in order to assess and eliminate the damage, more than 12,000 facilities in total were inspected in 11 cities and regions, assessment and preliminary planning of repair and construction were carried out. According to the Order of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated January 14, 2021, for the full restoration of damaged facilities and the implementation of repair and construction work in connection with the elimination of damage to those houses and facilities,  customer functions for the construction of residential houses and facilities, as well as the organization and coordination of work to be carried out in the construction process are entrusted to the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In order to start working in this direction, the Committee has started parallel repair and construction works in the affected areas since the end of January: at the first stage, necessary preparations were made, information was collected from the relevant agencies and listed, the scope of work was specified, individual houses in a state of emergency and in need of repair, apartment buildings and non-residential facilities were grouped on the territory, as well as for the reconstruction of destroyed and damaged individual houses, a model project of 2, 3, 4 and 5-room houses has been prepared.

At present, works in the direction of elimination of the damage caused by the aggression of the Armenian armed forces in the cities of Ganja, Mingachevir, Tartar and Naftalan, as well as in Fuzuli, Jabrayil, Goranboy, Aghdam, Aghjabadi, Beylagan and Barda regions are being carried out according to the planned schedule, and all the necessary forces have been involved to complete them in a short time and gradually hand them over in order to return the residents to a comfortable life. Uninterrupted supply of construction materials is carried out for the speed and quality of construction and repair work.

At the present stage, construction-repair works has been completed on more than 6,300 residential and non-residential facilities, and works on the reconstruction and repair of other damaged buildings is underway. Thus, the work done was carried out in various directions: repair work was carried out on partially destroyed houses and businesses, the walls of buildings were restored, roofs, doors and windows were re-installed. Other damaged facilities that need to be reconstructed and repaired are also gradually provided with the necessary construction materials and equipment, and the work is being carried out in a planned manner by the involved manpower. At the same time, new houses are being built on the site of 156 destroyed or damaged individual houses and non-residential facilities, of which 65 individual houses in Tartar, Aghdam, Aghjabadi, Beylagan, Barda, Mingachevir and Fuzuli have already been completed and put into operation.

It should be noted that the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture, guided by the instructions of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan to eliminate the damage caused to the population, has mobilized all the necessary resources for the return of people to their former lives in their hometowns and settlements as soon as possible, and construction, repair and restoration work in 11 regions and cities is expected to be completed as soon as possible.
