A lecture was organized on the topic "Historical City: Preserving National Identity in the Process of development"
On June 12, a lecture titled "Historical City: Preserving National Identity in the Process of development" was held in Baku by renowned Russian architect Aleksey Ginzburg — Professor of the International Academy of Architecture, Board Member of the Union of Architects of Russia, Vice-President of the Moscow Union of Architects, and laureate of several international architectural awards.
Organized by the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan with the support of ADA University, the event brought together professionals in the field of architecture, representatives of the public and private sectors, as well as students from specialized faculties. It served as a meaningful platform for discussing the prospects of urban environment development.
Against the backdrop of rapid urban growth, Aleksey Ginzburg addressed issues related to the preservation of historical heritage and shared his experience in integrating modern solutions with historical context in architectural and restoration projects.
It is worth noting that this was the first educational event organized by the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture. The initiative aims to support the development of architectural professionals, strengthen international dialogue, and promote a sustainable architectural culture while preserving historical heritage. Such events, which play a significant role in the advancement of Azerbaijani architecture, contribute to the exchange of leading practices and the implementation of sustainable urban development strategies.
