Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture, met with Ms. Tatyana Molchan, UN Deputy Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of UNECE, during the 86th session of UNECE held in Geneva.

 

The meeting discussed Azerbaijan’s national strategies in housing and urban planning within the framework of the UN 2030 Agenda and the provisions of the Geneva Charter on Sustainable Housing. The participants also exchanged views on ongoing reforms in housing policy and spatial planning, including digitalization, green construction, and reconstruction efforts in Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur following the conflict.

 

Anar Guliyev also praised UNECE’s initiatives in advancing the housing and urban development agenda in the region, and both sides agreed on closer cooperation in this area.
