Employees of the Committee participated in the seminar on Building Information Modeling (BIM)
A training on Building Information Modeling (BIM) was held at the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan within the framework of cooperation between our country and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Thanks to the special attention paid to the development of the construction sector by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, fundamental reforms have been carried out in this area recently, significant progress has been made in the country in the planned and systematic organization of urban planning processes and architectural activities, the application of leading world standards and modern technologies. One of the main priorities of the committee is the study and application in the country of leading world experience in the field of digitalization of urban planning activities.
In this context, the main goal of the training is to inform specialists about the features and application of new BIM technologies that improve the quality and efficiency of design, construction of civil and industrial facilities, ensuring the continuity of the process of improving their qualifications, as well as gaining new experience. During the training, an exchange of views took place with the Committee staff on the importance of BIM technologies, methods of their application in urban planning and in the field of architecture.
Also, at the organization of the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Azerbaijan, representatives of the “Digital Catapult” spoke about the possibility of creating and managing digital images when modeling buildings during the construction process, as well as storing important information in 3D format. It was noted that BIM is a new technological approach to the development and implementation of targeted innovation and acceleration programs to solve various problems, improve quality and efficiency.
