Uzbekistan is learning from Azerbaijan's experience in urban planning and construction
A delegation from the President’s Administration and the Ministry of Construction and Housing Utilities of the Republic of Uzbekistan recently visited Azerbaijan. The purpose of the visit was to learn about Azerbaijan's experience in urban planning and construction, the reforms and innovations in the process of granting construction permits, and related developments in recent years.
On August 12-13, 2024, the delegation held productive meetings with the leadership of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Baku General Directorate for Architecture and Urban Planning, and the Territorial Construction and Planning Center.
During the meetings, the delegation was given detailed information about the innovative electronic permit system "e-tikinti.gov.az," which was created in accordance with the Presidential Decree of December 28, 2018. The main objectives of this portal include increasing efficiency, accountability, and transparency by reducing the role of human factors in state-business relations, simplifying and improving the process of granting construction and operational permits, and enhancing the quality of construction projects. The e-system, managed by the Committee, integrates all relevant state bodies and has been operational for several years.
It was noted that starting from 2024, permits for construction and operation are issued exclusively in electronic form.
The parties emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation in this field between the two countries and agreed on future close collaboration.
