The master plan of Aghjabadi city was approved

The Master Plan of Aghjabadi, prepared by the order of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture, was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Master Plan of Aghjabadi city was prepared by the "Azərdövlətlayihə" General State Design Institute involved in the implementation of the "State Program of socio-economic development of the regions of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2014-2018" approved by the Decree No.118 dated 27.02.2014 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. 

The last Master Plan of Aghjabadi was developed in 1987 and covered a reporting period of 20 years. The approved new Master Plan covers the period up to 2035, with a reference year of 2015.

This document envisages the planned development of the city, and by the end of the reporting period, the city's population is projected to increase by 27.4% to 55,000 people. The Master Plan also envisages the provision of the city population with housing (apartment) from 20.3 m2 per capita in the reference year to 25 m2 by the end of the reporting period. The document also considers the expansion of transport and engineering-communication systems that make up the city's infrastructure. Thus, in the project Master Plan, it is planned to increase the total length of the road network from 86 km to 128 km, including roads of local importance. At the same time, the increase of public green areas and open spaces in the city has been identified as one of the main priorities of the Master Plan of Aghjabadi city. For this purpose, within the framework of the Master Plan, it is considered to increase (5.8 m2) of green area per capita and to reach to 7.4 m2 compared to 2015, and appropriate measures will be taken to increase the total green areas (parks, forest parks, boulevards, alleys, gardens, and orchards) from 23.9 he to 40.9 he by the end of the reporting period.

Areas for housing, social and cultural facilities of the city population for the period envisaged are considered in the Master Plan, and in accordance with the development of the city, the principle of protection of the natural landscape, protection of the environment and settlement considering the territorial zones, has been preserved.
