On August 4, 2023, a regular meeting of the Public Council under the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held.

At the beginning of the meeting, detailed information was provided on the activities of the Committee over the last period, on important works undertaken specifically to standardize facade solutions of buildings when issuing construction permits, as well as on innovations. Measures taken by the members of the Council were unanimously recognized as worthy of the highest praise.

At the same time, the issues of creating public places in Baku and their proper design were discussed at the meeting. Considering that this issue has been seriously troubling city residents recently, ways to solve existing problems in this area were also discussed. Members of the Council gave their recommendations on improving the regulatory framework governing this area, and also noted the importance of conducting appropriate educational work and broad propaganda in this direction. 

Head of the State Service for Protection, Development and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and officials of Baku City Executive Authority were also invited to the meeting of the Council. With their participation, an exchange of views took place on the protection of buildings with the status of monuments, the restoration of monuments in disrepair in the city of Baku, and relevant proposals were given.

In conclusion, Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture Anar Guliyev met with participants of the meeting, shared his thoughts with them and noted that he was glad to discuss such important issues within the framework of the Public Council established under the Committee. He also informed about the support provided by the Committee to the process of training new specialists in the field of urban planning and architecture, emphasized the importance of creating a mechanism for forming a base of highly qualified personnel.
 
It should be noted that the Council was established according to the order of the Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated July 5, 2021, and its composition was formed as a result of elections held in September of the same year.
