The joint meeting of the Working Group on Urban Development, Transport, Communications and High Technologies and Working Group on Scientific, Educational  and Cultural Issues  of the Interdepartmental Center of the Coordinating Headquarters of the Republic of Azerbaijan  was held in Hadrut settlement of Khojavend region. The meeting was attended by the representatives of the ministries, agencies and other relevant government agencies included in the working groups.

Opening the meeting, head of the working group of the Department of Humanitarian Policy, Diaspora, multiculturalism and religious affairs of the Presidential Administration, head of the Working Group on Science, Education and culture Farah Aliyeva noted that extensive creative work was carried out in the liberated territories in the same spirit of invincibility as the continuation of the great victory in the war. He emphasized  that the joint holding of working groups in liberated territories is an important step in improving the efficiency of the work done. Then Nusrat Suleymanov, Deputy Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration, Head of the Coordination Staff Secretariat, said the work done by the Headquarters was systematic, he touched upon the activities of the relevant working groups of the Interdepartmental Center and noted the importance of projects implemented by relevant government agencies in Karabakh. He emphasized the importance of closer coordination activities, taking into account the growth dynamics of the work carried out in the liberated territories.

At the meeting, First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, Head of the Working group on Urban Planning Namig Hummatov briefed the participants on the preparation of General and Main Plans of the liberated territories, the work done in the direction of urban development projects. It was noted that the development of villages and settlements in the Karabakh region requires a separate approach, and for this purpose the Committee has launched a competition "Renewed face of ancient Karabakh" to determine the future architectural image of 5 villages and 1 settlement. At present, the deadline for submission of projects by the participants to the competition has expired, and the process of evaluation of these projects by the jury is underway. It was noted that this competition should be held on a regular basis in other villages and settlements liberated from occupation.

Rahman Hummatov, Deputy Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, Head of the Working Group on Transport, Communications and High Technologies,  that infrastructure projects in the region are being implemented rapidly and in a planned manner, he noted that fraternal Turkish companies were involved in the design of roads and the development of unified plans  At the same time, work was done to prevent illegal telecommunications services in the liberated areas, and radiological and radioecological research was conducted in 7 regions.

In general, the demining of the liberated territories, the implementation of transport and telecommunications infrastructure projects, the protection of cultural heritage and historical and cultural monuments, the restoration of historical and cultural monuments in the cities of Agdam and Shusha were discussed in the meeting.

During the visit, the members of the Working Group on Scientific, Educational  and Cultural Issues  visited Agdam and inspected historical and cultural monuments in need of reconstruction and restoration. The working groups on urban planning and transport, communications and high technologies visited Fizuli and Shusha. The employees of government agencies inspected the construction of Fizuli Airport and Victory Road, the demining process on the Fizuli-Hadrut highway, and members of the group were informed about the preparation of territorial planning documents for the city of Fizuli. During the visit to Shusha, they got acquainted with the Shusha Radio and Television Broadcasting Station, the building of the Shusha Communication Hub and the existing road infrastructure, and reviewed the city's initial planning projects.

It should be noted that the meetings of the working groups of the Interdepartmental Center of the Coordination Headquarters are held regularly in order to carry out the reconstruction and restoration of the liberated territories in a centralized and coordinated manner, to organize the exchange of information.

The Coordination Headquarters established by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated November 24, 2020 is headed by the Head of the Presidential Administration Samir Nuriyev.
