Today is an important holiday for all of us – the Builder's Day. It is an indisputable fact that the achievements of the Azerbaijani people, who have an ancient history, rich material and spiritual culture in the field of construction and architecture, are their national heritage. These areas, which have passed a peculiar path of development, are developing rapidly today, always paying attention to the unity of national color with modernity, the continuation of historical traditions, the preservation of harmony with nature. 

If we turn to our history, we should highlight the architectural schools of Aran, Tabriz, Nakhchivan, Shirvan, Absheron, formed in the X-XII centuries in Azerbaijan on the basis of ancient traditions, having a common style affinity and considered a model for subsequent years. Ingenious architects and builders, who for centuries passed on to the younger generation the knowledge gained from forerunners, with their skill, innovation, discoveries and new achievements have always made their unique contribution to the development of our nation, as well as world culture.

The founder of modern Azerbaijan, the great national leader Heydar Aliyev has always appreciated architecture and construction, which is one of the leading components of national culture, and always treated professionals with care and attention. As a result of the worthy continuation of this far-sighted policy by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the implementation of constant reforms in this area, demanded by time, today the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture provides accelerated development of the country's construction sector and more effective implementation of state policy in this area. Thanks to your invaluable contribution and efforts in recent years, under the constant attention and care of the country's leadership, great successes have been achieved in urban planning, territorial planning and architecture.

As a result of the victory won by the Glorious Azerbaijani Army in the 44-day Patriotic War in 2020 under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief victorious Mr. Ilham Aliyev, today, under the slogan "Great Return", life is returning to the hometowns, settlements and villages of Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur, ravaged by the hated enemy for almost 30 years. In order to speed up this process and make settlements more comfortable for residents in the future, reconstruction and construction works are currently being carried out on our lands liberated from occupation in accordance with advanced urban planning standards, taking into account national characteristics. 

Undoubtedly, the work of highly qualified designers, builders, architects and engineers is indispensable in the development of the construction sector, which is of particular importance in the socio-economic development of Azerbaijan, in parallel implementation of such large-scale works in various regions in a short period of time.
