Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture Met with Members of Caspian European Club at the Club’s Regular Business Forum
The Business Forum, held 2 July 2019 at the Holiday Inn Baku Hotel, was organized by the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture, in conjunction with the Caspian European Club, and focused on the prospects and opportunities of cooperation as well as the priorities in the area of urban planning and construction.
During the event, Samir Nuriyev, Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture (SCUPA), met with about 150 representatives and leaders of companies, embassies, and international organizations, and held broad discussions on the topics in consideration.
During the event, Samir Nuriyev provided comprehensive information on SCUPA’s major areas of activity and projects. He particularly emphasized that the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev is specifically focused on the country’s urban planning activity. One of the major duties assigned to the Committee bu the head of the state is to ensure a well-planned and systemic urban planning process that should comply with respective requirements of the country’s legislation, the Committee Chairman reported.
Having stressed the important role played by the private sector in ensuring the sustainable development of the construction industry, Samir Nuriyev expressed satisfaction on the opportunity to meet, for the third time in the past year, with members of the Club at various events to hold constructive and fruitful discussions. The State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture attaches great importance to the development of dialogue with business entities, and constantly reviews such areas as the private sector’s development and application of innovative solutions, Chairman said. This is clearly evidenced through the following large-scale projects implemented by the Committee: the development of major area planning documents for the capital city of Baku and other cities of the country, implementation of the state urban planning control measures, digitalization of the construction and occupancy permits’ issuance process, launching the single-window electronic portal, simplification of services rendered to entrepreneurs and boosting their quality.
Then, Telman Aliyev, CEO and First Vice-Chairman of Caspian European Club, expressed his gratefulness to Samir Nuriyev, Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture, for his comprehensive speech, the dialogue with business entities, and the attention he paid to the proposals of the Club members. Then, Telman Aliyev awarded the Committee Chairman with the Honorary Club membership certificate. After that, the Business Forum resumed its activity to hold broad discussions on the numerous questions the Club members addressed to the Committee Chairman.
The Caspian European Club was established in June 2002 with the active participation and support of the Caspian Energy International Media Group as well as giant oil and gas companies operating in the Caspian-Black Sea region. It includes over 5000 companies and entities from 70 countries of the world. The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev is the founder and first Chairman of the Caspian European Club.
